ASU Makes it Three in a Row
Clemson endured a 12 hour bus drive, arriving in Jonesboro at 4 am Saturday morning. Ten hours later the Tigers lined up to play the Tribe on a cold and somewhat raining day. The drive wasn't completely out of their systems and ASU opened the scoring in the first five minutes.
From there, ASU scored eleven more tries winning by a 67-0 score. Defense was again the theme of the day as ASU prevented Clemson from scoring. Danie Swanepoel, Ben Naiveli, Darrin Oliver and Nardus Wessels scored two tries each. Roland Evans, Matt Guest, Aaron Church and Curtis Huckaby all scored one try each. Huckaby made one conversion and David Caswell was 3 for 4 on conversions.
Missed conversions and turn over ball are real concerns for the Tribe as they prepare for a long bus ride to Gainesville next Saturday for their fourth league match against the University of Florida. The good news is ASU is two wins away from reaching the sweet 16 in their first season in division one. ASU record now stands at 3-0 in league and 9 and 0 overall.
